Children's chess classes in Madrid 7

For a child starting chess in Madrid the usual route is a club school. Academia de Ajedrez Chamberí takes children from six in its Infantil group; Ajedrez con Cabeza, also in Chamberí, adds holiday camps; La Casa del Ajedrez teaches children at its premises, online and inside schools. In Vallecas the Tajamar school runs a chess programme from the age of six alongside its club.

In the towns, Coslada's club school has initiation, intermediate and advanced groups on Friday afternoons from October to May and publishes its monthly fee; Getafe teaches in several civic centres; Diagonal Alcorcón lists children's groups, private lessons and school programmes. Most pages do not print a price, and in that case the card says so. Ask about a trial session, the level of the group and whether the club enters children in school tournaments.
